Northern Tanzania

Northern Circuit Route Mount Kilimanjaro Trek

Mount Kilimanjaro

The Northern Circuit Experience: Kilimanjaro’s longest, most scenic, and best-acclimatized route through remote wilderness and panoramic mountain landscapes.

The Experience

Ultimate Acclimatization. Remote Wilderness. The Grand Circuit of Kilimanjaro.

The Northern Circuit Route Kilimanjaro expedition is designed for trekkers seeking the most comprehensive and successful ascent of Africa’s highest mountain. Beginning on the western slopes at Lemosho Gate, this remarkable journey circles nearly the entire mountain, offering unmatched solitude, exceptional acclimatization, and breathtaking scenery.

Unlike shorter routes, the Northern Circuit traverses remote northern slopes rarely visited by other climbers. The extended itinerary allows for gradual altitude gain, maximizing summit success while providing ample time to appreciate Kilimanjaro’s diverse ecosystems—from lush rainforest and giant heather moorlands to alpine deserts and glacial landscapes.

The adventure culminates with a midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak before an unforgettable overnight experience near the crater. This is Kilimanjaro at its most spectacular, combining wilderness, comfort, and achievement into one extraordinary expedition.
